Honda Brio Automatic Road Test
The Brio’s price has been hiked by Rs. 15,000-18,000/-

This is that time of the year when every manufacturer wants to hike prices of its products while they also want to sell off the previous year’s inventory at attractive discounts. The government was until now providing excise duty benefits on every segment of vehicles right from tiny hatchbacks to humongous SUVs. On small cars, scooters and motorcycles, the excise duty was reduced from 12% to 8% while for mid-sized cars it was cut from 24% to 20% and for SUVs and large vehicles it was cut from 30% to 24% and 27% to 24% respectively. The government has wished each one of us a very happy new year by rolling back these excise duty benefits.

As a result, every manufacturer will be hiking prices of their vehicles and this includes Honda too. The Japanese automaker has hiked prices of its vehicles very significantly. The Brio gets a hike of Rs. 15,000 – 18,000/- while the Amaze compact sedan gets a hike of Rs. 19,000-26,000/-. The City gets a price hike of Rs. 33,000 – 48,000/- and finally the CR-V sees a hike of Rs. 60,000/-. Officials from Honda are yet to decide the new prices of the recently-launched Mobilio MPV.
