With a 23rd July launch planned for the much awaited Honda Mobilio, the Japanese auto major also has another surprise in store for us. The company will also be launching the Mobilio RS version in the country, which was first launched in Indonesia a few weeks ago and is positioned as the flagship variant in the MPVs line-up. Here is a look at the RS version that will definitely set the Mobilio apart from the competition in the segment with its sporty looks.
On the outset, the Honda Mobilio RS variant dawns a split chrome grille instead of the single chrome unit on the regular version and lends a muscular look to the MPV. The front fascia is further accentuated for a sporty look with the front bumper sporting larger air dams and larger fog lamp enclosures with oodles of chrome garnish all around that extends on the rear bumper as well. The RS kit also adds new headlight clusters which include HID projector lights and integrated LED daytime running lights.
Also adding that sporty quotient are the side skirts, new 15-inch alloy-wheels, chrome exhaust and a rear spoiler on the Mobilio RS. You also get ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and brush-silver finished roof rails, which are missing on the regular Mobilio. On the inside, the RS version comes with faux wood garnish running across the instrument cluster and the centre console and the door trims, faux leather upholstery, illuminated door sills with Mobilio badging and a 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Overall, the Honda Mobilio RS will bring a welcome change in the MPV segment. MPVs are not really known to be sporty, but Honda is in the mood to bring a revolution in the segment with the RS version. The Mobilio RS definitely packs in a sporty punch with the RS body-kit that adds an aggressive, muscular stance to the Mobilio and will be liked by young buyers looking for a sporty 7-seater in the segment.
The Mobilio is expected to share its powertrain options with the City and will be competing against the Toyota Innova, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy, Nissan Evalia and the Mahindra Xylo in the segment. Honda will soon begin taking advance bookings for the MPV, while deliveries will commence soon after the launch. The RS version on the other hand is expected to be launched 2-3 months after the regular variant makes its debut.
