Honda Vision XS-1 Concept Exterior

Planning an onslaught on the compact SUV segment in India, Honda showcased the Vision XS-1 concept study at the ongoing 2014 Auto Expo. The Vision XS-1 concept comes with single sliding doors with large openings, three-row of seats for a capacity of seven occupants and a compact body.

The Honda Vision XS-1 concept is a study model underpinning a compact SUV in the future. The Vision XS-1 is based on Honda’s man maximum, machine minimum concept, wherein space has been maximised for the passengers, with minimum space utilized for mechanical components. The exterior on the Vision XS-1 celebrates a sporty design. Honda has used the Exciting H design, which has been a human-centred concept and was also seen on the all new City.

The exterior even though compact has a visual presence with accentuated shoulder line and crease line on the sides and a long sloping roofline. The front carries the familiar grille with LEDs and a sporty front bumper. The Vision XS-1 is a two-door concept which slide to open providing access to the front and the rear seats. The absence of the B-pillar makes the ingress even simpler for the rear passengers. The seating layout is 2+3+3 with decent space at the rear for passengers. The concept gets chunky tyres for the rugged look.

While Honda has the Vezel compact vehicle internationally in the compact SUV segment, the Vision XS-1 concept will form the basis for the next generation of Honda vehicles and could spawn a compact SUV specific to emerging markets in the future. Honda has also showcased the Accord Hybrid at its pavilion along with the Vision XS-1.
