Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 was spied testing recently and it heavily resembles the KTM Duke 390. It has been a concept model for a long time now and it will soon be in production lines.
Automobile companies from Sweden have a thing or two about making their products conceptually cool, be it bikes or cars. One from the Swedish stables is the Husqvarna Vitpilen range. Vitpilen, meaning white arrow in Swedish, is named as a tribute to the Silver Arrow off-roader from the 1950’s. The brand is slowly shifting its focus from off-roading bikes to road-ridden ones and the transition seems to be paying off.
Husqvarna’s association with KTM has gone a long way and plenty of features and designs can be seen common on both the company’s products. Recently, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 was spied testing in broad daylight, wherein properly lit images were obtained. The spy shot culture has also taken its toll on the Vitpilen 125 and 701.
The Vitpilen 401 is a mere facsimile of the KTM Duke 390, resembling numerous details on the outside. It has the same Trellis Frame Chassis and shares the 373cc single-cylinder engine too. Alloy swingarms, upside-down WP forks have also made their way into the Swedish bike. One of the few variations are the floating disc brakes and Bosch ABS system.
Styling has been revised quite a bit, with a slimmer body, lower handles and new seats as compared to the Duke. The Vitpilen 401 has come a long way from being a mere concept in 2014 to a potential champion on the road. It was spotted next to the Duke 800 and a Duke 125 during testing. The first batch from its production, can be seen as early as next year and the finalised product can be seen in August this year.
