Hyundai has revealed the facelifted 2019 Elantra for the ASEAN markets and it looks similar to the global facelift which was unveiled last year. However, the ASEAN-spec Hyundai Elantra facelift revealed gives us an idea of how the sedan would look when it is launched in India.

This version of the Hyundai Elantra facelift is meant for the Asian markets and comes with a lot of touches of chrome. The car also gets redesigned styling. The front end looks angular and features triangular shaped LED headlamp units. There is also a large trapezoid-shaped grille along with updated front bumpers and fog lamps. Compared to the current model, the rear has lots of differences including the bumper, tail lights and boot lid.

The cabin of the 2019 Hyundai Elantra also gets a refresh. The steering wheel is updated and there are chrome inserts for the AC vents along with a new layout for climate control buttons. The facelifted Elantra also gets a new infotainment system and wireless phone charging.

Under the hood, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra gets the same powertrain option as the current model – The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine which makes 152 PS of power and 192 Nm of torque and the 1.6-litre diesel engine which pumps out 128 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are either in the form of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. The updated Hyundai Elantra will rival the likes of the new Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis and Skoda Octavia when launched in India.
