The Hyundai Eon facelift is under works and is likely to be launched in 2017.

Hyundai Eon 1.0 Test Drive Review
The Eon will sport small changes on the exteriors

The Hyundai Eon has been plying in the market for long and a facelifted version is finally under works. This is the first time that the car will be updated since the 1.0 litre variant came out. The facelift will be out sometime in the next year followed by the launch of the next generation car.

The competition in the small car segment has intensified lately with models like the Renault Kwid and Datsun redi-GO making significant inroads in the market. The competition has moved forward with introduction of features like touchscreen infotainment system, DRLs and many others.

The facelift is not expected to come with major design changes on the exterior as well as the interior. It will continue with the fluidic design philosophy. A major addition though is the touchscreen system to compete with the better equipped Kwid. It is expected to maintain the sales till the next gen model comes out.

The Eon will continue to be powered by the same set of engines. The 800cc unit puts out 56 PS of power and 74.5 Nm of torque. On the other hand the 1.0-litre engine produces 69 PS of power and 94 Nm of torque. We can expect the prices to see a marginal increase with the launch of the facelift.
