Hyundai India plans to expand the manufacturing capacity of its Indian plant in order to increase its market share to 22% in the country. The company’s capacity will go up to 6.7 lakh cars in the next two years with minor investment at its twin plants in Chennai from the current 5.9 lakh units per annum. Hyundai is not considering a new plant because there’s no production constraint right now. The company has sold 2.8 lakh cars in the last fiscal and enjoys a 20% share in the domestic market.
