Hyundai Eon - Front

Hyundai has launched a petrol price lock assurance program in India, post the increase of petrol fuel prices by an astonishing Rs. 7.5 per litre. The Korean automaker is essentially offering discounts on petrol engined Eon, Santro, i10, i20, Accent and Verna cars. This is being done to ensure the customers don’t feel the pinch of higher running costs due to increase in petrol fuel price. Under this scheme, Hyundai is offering a discount of upto Rs. 3000/-, which offsets the extra Rs. 7.5 per litre for the next seven months.

“The Petrol Lock Scheme will insulate the customer from the impact of the price hike. The price hike is severe and we need to soften the blow for our customers,” Mr Arvind Saxena, Director (Marketing and Sales), Hyundai India, said.

Its not only Hyundai who is offering discounts on petrol variants. Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors are offeirng big discounts too. Maruti Suzuki has been facing decline in sales of the Alto since quite some time now and is offering a Rs. 30,000/- discount on the car. Another reason for such a massive discount on the Alto could be to clear stocks as the company makes way for the new model. The discount on other petrol powered cars from the Maruti Suzuki stable is around Rs. 20,000/-. Tata Motors is offering a discount ranging between Rs. 10,000-50,000/- on it’s petrol powered cars
