The Jeep Compass Trailhawk was launched just a few days back in India

The Jeep Compass has been a fairly successful product for the FCA brand in India and now the automaker has decided to launch a 7-seater SUV here. The new 7-seater SUV will also be launched under Jeep’s portfolio and it will rival the biggies like the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4.

The new SUV could be based on the all-new Jeep Compass that’ll arrive in 2020. It might be called Compass Long or Grand Compass and will be locally manufactured at FCA’s Ranjangaon facility in Pune. Thew 7-seater SUV will be launched in 2020-end or early-2021.

FCA sold the Compass in very good numbers when the SUV was first launched and this momentum was maintained until recently when sales started dropping due to market conditions. The company recently launched the Compass Trailhawk to cater to a wider audience. FCA was also planning to launch the Renegade in India but that plan has been dropped for now.
