Kawasaki Versys 650 owners now can get an exchange rate of up to 90% on their ex-showroom price if they’re looking to exchange their bike for a Versys 1000. Kawasaki introduced the 2019 Versys 1000 in India at Rs. 10.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle was launched in India on 13 February 2019, while the pre-bookings had begun on 17 November 2018 for Rs. 1.50 lakhs. The motorcycle is available in a single colour scheme – Pearl Flat Stardust White/Metallic Flat Spark Black. The bike is brought to India via the CKD route and is assembled at a manufacturing facility near Pune.
The 2019 Versys 1000 features LED headlamps and an LCD instrument cluster. Electronic rider aids include Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System (KIBS), Kawasaki Cornering Management Function and Electronic Cruise Control, these features are absent on the Versys 650. Other features include upright ergonomics, adjustable windscreen, electronic throttle valves, updated front, and rear suspension, radial-mount front brake calipers and DC power socket.
The bike embodies a 1043cc, in-line, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 120 BHP and 102 Nm of peak torque and is paired to a 6-speed transmission. The Versys 1000 sits on 17-inch rims that are more focused for tarmac riding rather than off-roading.
The Kawasaki Versys 1000 competes with the Triumph Tiger 800 XR, Honda Africa Twin, Suzuki V-Strom 1000 and the Ducati Multistrada 950, all these bikes are fitted with a larger front wheel to enhance their off-road ability, unlike the off-roader offered by Kawasaki.
