KTM 390 Duke Motorcycle

Bajaj Auto will launch the Kawasaki Ninja 300 in India on the 10th of April. The Ninja 300 replaces the Ninja 250R in the Indian market and is expected to be priced around Rs. 4.20 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai). Some dealers are stating that the launch of the Ninja 300 could be accompanied by the India unveil of KTM’s 390 Duke. This news can be taken with a fistful of salt as there is little sense in unveiling a cheaper and more value for money product along side the launch of a performance motorcycle which is far from VFM.

However Bajaj Auto can do anything and you simply can’t ignore these rumours, as the company is known to unveil products to build hype around them before the launch. Since the Duke 200 is already on sale in India and the 390 Duke is similar to it in almost every aspect (except the engine and braking system), keeping a separate media event might not make much financial sense to them. Thus there is a very small chance of the Duke 390 getting unveiled on the 10th of April but there is a chance, which can’t be denied.

The KTM 390 Duke will be offered with ABS and is expected to be priced around Rs. 2.3-2.5 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai). This naked street-fighter performance machine is going to be a racket in terms of acceleration, with 0 – 100 km/hr sprint being done in under 7 seconds. The launch of the 390 Duke will take place by end of May and deliveries will start immediately. KTM will unveil the RC8 superbike at the Orange Day 2.0 in Delhi on the 31st of March, which will be showcased (not sold) at select KTM dealerships across the country.
