If launched in India, the 790 Adventure could pose a big threat to the Triumph Tiger 800, Ducati Multistrada 950 and the BMW F 750 GS

The internet is abuzz these days with the news of the KTM 390 Adventure that is set to be launched in India next year. A spy shot of the bike too had emerged recently. However, now we have news that a test mule of the KTM 790 Adventure has been showcased to around 150 KTM fans who had come to attend the company’s European Rally Adventure in Sardinia.

Not many details were disclosed about the bike but the Austrian bike maker revealed that though the 790 Adventure borrows its powertrain from the 790 Duke, the former gets a wider torque spread. This means that the engine in the adventure tourer has been retuned to cater to the adventure riding style. Expect the 790 Adventure to come loaded with all the electronics like cornering ABS and multi-level traction control system. Moreover, the motorcycle is also likely to get adjustable handlebar and foot pegs.

The production version of the 790 Adventure will be unveiled at the 2018 EICMA, with sales expected to commence from early 2019. The bike isn’t expected anytime soon in India.
