The RC 490 will be the highest capacity RC in the KTM lineup while the RC 790 and RC 890 are not under consideration yet.
The KTM RC series of motorcycles are quite popular in India. Some like these supersport motorcycles as a style statement while some love it for the performance it offers. There is a range of RC models offered in India including RC 125, RC 200 and RC 390.
KTM is planning to add yet another Supersport in this lineup, the KTM RC 490. This will be the range topping RC in their global lineup. The bike will be positioned above the RC 390 in KTM’s global lineup. More details of the highest capacity RC motorcycle are expected at the upcoming EICMA show.
The flagship supersport is likely to be manufactured at the Bajaj-KTM’s Chakan facility in Pune. The bike is expected to produce between 55-60 PS of power. Suspension duties are likely to be handled by upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear.
The KTM RC 490 is expected to get switchable dual-channel ABS as standard along with slipper clutch, ride by wire tech and other electronic aids like traction control and riding modes.
The styling of the RC 490 will be very similar to the RC 390 having a sharp design language just like its other siblings.
In the near future there are no signs of RC 790 and RC 890 to take shape. The RC 490 will be the flag-bearer for KTM’s RC family as of now.
