Lexus is all set to enter the Indian market by March 2017 and they seem to be gearing up for it.
Lexus will be launching its vehicles in India officially in March 2017. During their launch, Lexus will also bring in their F-Performance range in India. The F-Performance range when brought to the country will compete with the BMW M and the Mercedes AMG line-ups.
The first car to be launched in this high performance line-up is expected to be the RX450 F-Sport which is a mid-sized SUV and will compete with the Mercedes GLA 45 AMG. Compared to the regular RX450h, the RX450F Sport comes with different riding modes like the SportS+ mode. It also comes with an active stability system and adaptive variable suspension. Even the exteriors come with some sporty bits.
Along with this model, Lexus might also launch the RC-F, which is a high performance version of the RC coupe. The RC-F uses a completely different engine compared to that of the F-Sport model. The engine used in the RC-F is a 5.0-litre V8 unit producing 477 HP, whereas the F-Sport model is offered with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder unit or a 3.5-litre V6. Sporty suspension and seats, Brembo brakes, Torsen limited-slip rear differential with torque vectoring and carbon fibre components for weight reduction all come as a standard in this model. This model will directly compete with the likes of the BMW M4 and Mercedes C63 AMG.
Lexus currently is planning to enter the Indian market with their range topping LX SUV, their mid-sized RX SUV and their entry level sedan ES. They are also planning to bring in their hybrid powertrains for the RX and the ES models.
