Mahindra has launched the Gusto 125 in the Indian scooter space and the product will be rivalling some well-established players in the market.

2016 Mahindra Gusto 125 Side
The Mahindra Gusto 125 is offered in two variants – DX and VX

The Mahindra Gusto was introduced to the market quite some time back and the scooter comes with some really nice features. Unfortunately, Mahindra wasn’t able to sell the product in sizeable numbers but that did not stop the manufacturer from launching an updated and a more powerful version of the Gusto.

The Mahindra Gusto 125 has been launched in the market at a price of Rs. 50,680/- (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The Gusto 125 looks very similar to its 110cc counterpart and the only differences are in the cosmetics. The Gusto 125 comes with two new colour schemes and a bunch of new body graphics while everything else remains the same.

Powering the Mahindra Gusto 125 is a 124.6cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 8.6 HP of power and 10 Nm of torque, thus making it slightly more powerful than the 110cc version. The scooter also comes with features like remote flip key, 12-inch tubeless tyres, headlamps with LED elements, etc.

The scooter segment is a very competing one and players like Honda and Suzuki have established a proper base for themselves here. The Gusto 125 competes with the Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125. The Activa is a huge-selling product and is one tough product to crack. Mahindra has never been able to crack the two-wheeler market in India and it is unlikely that the Gusto 125 will sell in big numbers.
