Mahindra Centuro Rockstar

Mahindra has just launched the Centuro Rockstar in India. The Rockstar is a base variant of the bike and it comes with many feature deletions. The Centuro is also available in O1 and N1 variants. The Centuro Rockstar comes with a new black paintjob and red decals with golden accents. The O1 and N1 variants get a smart key but the Rockstar gets only a regular foldable key. It also misses out on some features like a digital instrument cluster, anti-theft alarm and engine cowls.

The Mahindra Centuro Rockstar carries no other changes and is similar to the O1 and N1 variants when it comes to specifications. The mechanicals too remain the same and it is powered by the same 106.7cc single-cylinder 4-stroke engine producing 8.38 BHP of power and 8.5 Nm of torque. This MCi-5 engine is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The Centuro gets a 12.7-litre fuel tank, LED position lamps and LED tail lamps.

The Mahindra Centuro Rockstar has been launched in only select cities for now and it is priced at Rs. 45,221/- (ex-showroom, Rajasthan). Mahindra will be doing a phase-wise launch of the bike across various cities throughout the country. The commuter bike segment is seeing a lot of competition and hence pricing and specifications remain a key point if a company intends to maintain sales. By launching the Centuro Rockstar at a lower price than other variants, the automaker hopes to capture a little more market share by luring in buyers. The Mahindra Centuro competes with the Honda Dream Neo, TVS Star City+ and Bajaj Discover 100M.
