2012 Mahinda Rodeo

Mahindra Two Wheelers has launched an affordable variant of the Rodeo automatic scooter, named as Rodeo RZ Standard variant. The manufacturer aims to increase the sales figure of the scooter along with increasing the brand presence in the market by targeting young buyers. In order to cut costs of the scooter, Mahindra has deleted some features from the product including anti-theft locking system, under-seat light, replacement of digital instrument cluster with analog layout, phone charging socket and few other tidbits.

The front fueling system is repositioned under the seat. The 4-stroke Z-series 125cc engine remains unchanged producing a maximum power output of 8 BHP at 7500 RPM with maximum torque figure of 9 Nm at 5500 RPM, coupled with a CVT automatic gearbox. The Mahindra Rodeo is known for its good ride quality, adequate performance, light and zippy nature along with a decent fuel efficiency figure of 45 km/l.

Overall, the Rodeo scooter manages to offer an attractive package for the young buyers. The new Mahindra RZ Rodeo Standard variant is priced at Rs. 45,199/- (ex-showroom Delhi), which is Rs. 3000/- cheaper than the fully loaded Rodeo RZ variant and comes with four color options. Apart from the Rodeo, Mahindra also offers Duro DZ in its 125cc scooter range. Mahindra sold 7036 units of its scooters last month. The company recently ventured into the motorcycle segment with the Pantero and Centuro.
