The Mahindra Marazzo has already seen more than 10,000 units being booked

Mahindra has announced that they will be increasing the price of the newly launched Marazzo by Rs. 30,000 – 40,000/-. This price hike will be effective from January 1, 2019. It will also vary depending on the variant the customer books.

The Mahindra Marazzo was launched in September at an introductory price of Rs. 9.99 lakhs for the basic M2 variant and Rs. 13.99 lakhs for the range topping M8 variant. Mahindra claims that they have already received over 10,000 bookings for the shark-inspired MPV.

The vehicle has been designed by the Mahindra Research Valley, Chennai in collaboration with the Mahindra North America Technical Centre. Mahindra Design Studio and Mahindra owned renowned Italian design house, Pininfarina have played major roles in designing the car. The Marazzo comes in 7-seater and 8-seater variants.

The MPV houses a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine which can produce a maximum power of 121 BHP and a peak torque of 300 Nm. Transmission is handled by 6-speed manual gearbox. It is likely that a petrol engine variant and an automatic option will follow eventually closer to the implementation of BS6 norms.

One of the most unique features of the Marazzo is the rear air-con system. This is extended along the length of the second and third rows. Mahindra claims that such an arrangement delivers a much more effective cooling with regard to the traditional horizontal or pillar mounted air-con vents.
