The Mahindra XUV500 facelift will get a host of features added to the list on the new W10 variant that will be priced at Rs. 1 lakh premium over the W8 variant.

2015 Mahindra XUV500 Facelift Teaser
The 2015 XUV500 facelift is slated for launch on 25th May in the country

Its first attempt at making a global SUV, Mahindra launched the XUV500 back in 2011 and the model has been virtually unchanged since then save for the few improvements and upgrades. With sales being consistent, the Indian automaker is all set to launch the facelifted version of the SUV on 25th May and has also commenced teasing the upcoming model on its social media channels. While the earlier spy shots have already revealed the cosmetic upgrades on the XUV500 facelift, a recent report online also suggests that there will be a new range-topping W10 variant added to the lineup.

The new W10 variant will be priced at a Rs. 1 lakh premium over the W8 version. For the extra price, you get a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with DVD compatibility that also doubles up as a reverse camera display and comes with zoom function. In addition, the W10 trim gets features added from the recently launched Xclusive edition and includes the optional 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, electric sunroof, illuminated scuff plates, new 10-spoke alloy wheels, voice messaging system and an express up and down function on the driver side window.

Mahindra will also be equipping the 2015 XUV500 facelift with the new start-stop button while the cabin gets finished in new beige and black upholstery. Lastly, the report suggests that there are new lights located under the ORVMs and illuminate the road with ‘XUV500’ lettering when opened. In terms of power, the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine will continue to perform duties on the SUV, but with improved fuel efficiency and power delivery. Contrary to anticipation though, Mahindra will not launch the automatic version of the XUV500 with this facelift while the diesel hybrid version showcased at last year’s Auto Expo will also be given a miss.
