The Baleno RS largely looks similar to the standard one save for the body kit

Maruti cars were ruling all the segments of hatchbacks on the sales chart except the premium space which was changed with the recent launch of the Baleno. The premium hatchback is giving tough competition to the Hyundai Elite i20 with sales being neck-to-neck. However, there is a class of people who are unhappy with the current engines and wish for a bit more power. The automaker has heard these wishes and has showcased the more powerful Baleno RS at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The Maruti Baleno RS is powered by a 1.0-litre Boosterjet, directly injected, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 112 BHP of power and 175  Nm of torque which is expected to be offered with a 5-speed manual or CVT transmission. The hot hatchback showcased at the Expo wears a body kit. The Baleno RS is expected to be launched during the festive season along with the Ignis.
