The Maruti Ignis facelift is expected to use a BS6-compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine.

The hatchback gets an All-Wheel Drive version in the international market

Images of the 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis have surfaced online revealing that the hatchback retains its quirky and unique styling with some additions. While the pictures seem to be of the international-spec Ignis facelift, the same design is likely to be used for the India-spec Ignis facelift as well.

The Maruti Ignis facelift features a new grille similar to what is seen on the new Maruti S-Presso. Even the new front and rear bumper design seemed to be inspired by its younger sibling. The hatchback gets faux scuff plates too. Keeping all this aside, the majority of the design is carried over including the wheels, headlights and tail-lights.

As no interior images are leaked, it is assumed that the Maruti Ignis facelift will feature the same cabin as before with a SmartPlay infotainment system.

Under the hood, the Maruti Ignis facelift is expected to use the same BS6 version of the 1.2-litre petrol engine currently seen in the Baleno and Swift. The powertrain will be offered with a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.

In the Indian market, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis rivals the likes of the Ford Freestyle and the Mahindra KUV100 NXT and is expected to be launched by mid-2020. Expect a marginal hike in prices over the current model.
