The facelifted Maruti S-Cross looks more premium

Maruti Suzuki has launched the facelifted S-Cross in India, priced between Rs. 8.49 – 11.29 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Being a facelift, changes are more concentrated on the front fascia of the car. Here’s all you need to know about the Maruti S-Cross facelift.

Design and Looks – From the front angle, the S-Cross does come across as a better looker now. The more upright and vertically stacked chrome grille and the chiselled bonnet adds a hint of aggression and muscle to the vehicle. The LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs gets minor design tweaks. The front bumper is now sportier looking. The side profile remains more or less identical to the pre-facelifted model. However, there are a new set of alloy wheels with dual-tone treatment. The LED tail-lights and the bumper get minor tweaks as well.

Interiors – The facelifted S-Cross also gets minor tweaks to the interior. There is an updated instrument cluster with a new multi-information display, an all-black interior and contrast stitching on the upholstery. The SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment is now compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Powertrain – The facelifted S-Cross comes powered by only the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine as Maruti has discontinued the 1.6-litre diesel engine. The 1.3-litre oil-burner unit in the facelifted S-Cross makes 89 HP of power and 200 Nm of torque. This motor comes paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and features SHVS mild-hybrid system. Maruti claims the mild-hybrid system has improved the fuel efficiency by 7 percent, from 23.65 km/l to 25.1 km/l (ARAI certified).

Other features – Other features on offer are automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, reverse parking camera, gear shift indicator, all-4 disc brakes, torque assist and brake energy regeneration system. Dual airbags and ABS with EBD are standard across all variants.
