The next generation Maruti Swift and Swift DZire will get cosmetic alterations next year with SHVS tech and AGS transmission.

Maruti Suzuki has garnered its two of the most successful offerings, the Swift and Swift DZire, with frequent updates. For 2017, new generation models of both the cars are ready to continue their impact on the Indian market. Reportedly, the Swift is highly expected to get AGS (Automatic Gear Shift) transmission system which is Maruti speak for AMT. Moreover, the hatchback and sedan might probably carry SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) system as well, which could be introduced by mid-2017.

The 2017 Maruti Swift might carry various design tweaks such as a broader grille, back-swept headlamps, round fog lamps and a floating roof appearance. Also, it could shed 15 kgs of weight resulting in better fuel efficiency and power delivery.

Based on the same changes, the Swift DZire also might receive similar design alterations with interiors getting high-tech carrying a new touchscreen infotainment system and many other advancements. However, reports of the fitment of SHVS tech is not absolutely confirmed officially. Powertrains will remain the same with 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS motors on both the Maruti siblings with a 5-speed AMT gearbox paired to both the engines.
