McLaren to officially enter India in 2018 with its entire range of sports cars.

British sports car manufacturer, McLaren is planning to enter India officially to expand its presence across the globe. The McLaren cars will rival offerings from other sports car marques like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Maserati and Porsche.

McLaren will be offering its entire range of sports cars for the Indian market starting from the entry-level 540C to the range-topping 720S. The McLaren 540C is expected to be priced around the Rs. 2 crores mark (ex-showroom). Initially, the automaker will have a sales target of 10 cars per annum. Globally, McLaren sold 3286 cars last year as opposed to 1654 cars sold in 2015. Sales have nearly doubled and the company intends to sell up to 5000 cars annually by 2022.

Currently, McLaren has a total of 79 sales and service outlets spread over Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, North America and Latin America. Along with entering the Indian market, the automaker is also planning to enter markets like Brazil and Russia.

Globally, McLaren has the 540C, 570 GT, 570S in the Coupe and Spider avatars, 650S in the Coupe and Spider avatars, the 675LT range and the 720S in its portfolio of cars.
