2022 Mercedes AMG SL Interior
Mercedes says the new SL caters to customers looking for comfort and sportiness

The Mercedes-AMG SL has an interior that is inspired by the original 300 SL Roadster

The interior design of the upcoming Mercedes-AMG SL 2+2 cabriolet has been officially revealed. The leather-lined cabin displays modern craftmanship and is packed with tech.

According to Mercedes, the interior of the first 300 SL Roadster inspired designers to create the interior for the new SL.

The cockpit design of the new generation convertible is focused toward the driver. The dashboard is dominated by the portrait-style 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen that can be adjusted (to avoid reflections).

The 2022 Mercedes SL’s MBUX system has borrowed some functional content and operating structure from the new S-Class. But, model-specific content do feature.

A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster also attracts attention immediately and there are 4 galvanised turbine nozzle-esque air vents on the dashboard as well.

The rather wide centre console features the NACA air intake signature, a hallmark AMG stylistic element, that provides a break between leather-lined surfaces, while the door panels, which feature the Burmester loudspeakers, have also been given proper attention.

For the first time since 1989, when the R 129 model series Mercedes SL was introduced, the convertible model features a 2+2 seating configuration. People up to 1.50 metres tall can occupy the additional seats says the carmaker.

There will be 2 types of seats on offer with the new Mercedes-AMG SL – Sports and Performance (optional) – and they have integrated headrests.

When it comes to the seat upholstery, customers can choose between single or 2-tone nappa leather with diamond stitching and nappa leather with Dinamica Race microfibre with contrast stitching in either yellow or red.

Other features that one would be able to see in the Mercedes-AMG SL interior include ambient lighting and (optional) head-up display.
