Mercedes-Benz has been doing really well in India and the company is on a product offensive here. The German automaker has launched a lot of new vehicles this year and this spree is going to continue ahead as well. Later today, the company will be launching the S63 AMG sedan. The Mercedes S-Class is officially the best car in the world and it boasts of immense luxury, space and comfort. However, there is one vehicle that is even luxurious than the S-Class. You may ask what? Well, it is the Mercedes-Maybach. Maybach vehicles are based on Mercs but they aim to provide an even more exclusive feeling for the owner.

Mercedes-Benz has imported one unit of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 from Germany and most likely it is for homologation purposes. The Maybach S600 is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 petrol engine that produces 523 HP of power at 4900-5300 RPM and a massive 830 Nm of torque at 1900-4000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and the luxo-barge accelerates from standstill to 100 km/hr in just 5 seconds. The behemoth gives out a claimed mileage figure of 5.53 km/l in the city and around 8.5 km/l on the highways.

The Maybach is loaded with a very long list of features. It comes with Magic Body Control suspension, panoramic sliding roof, power-operated sunblinds, heated windshield, heads-up display, LED intelligent lighting system, Burmester 3D Surround Sound System, Executive Rear Seat Package and a pair of silver-plated champagne flutes. The sedan also has a Magic Sky Control System that enables the user to tint the sunroof at the press of a button. Magic! The vehicle also gets a lot of safety features like front, side, curtain and thorax airbags, seatbelt airbags and seat cushion airbags for rear seat passengers.

Other features like Pre-Safe Brake with Pedestrian Recognition, Distronic Plus with Steering Assist, BAS Plus with Cross Traffic Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and Night View Assist Plus are also present. The Maybach S600 has been imported to India at a cost of Rs. 45 lakhs, so we can expect Mercedes India to launch the vehicle at a price of around Rs. 2.79 crores after keeping in mind all the duties, taxes, company and dealer profits and other costs. The vehicle competes with the Aston Martin Rapide, Bentley Flying Spur and Rolls-Royce Ghost.
