The all new Mercedes S-Class is considered as the cornerstone of the group’s growth strategy in various markets. The luxury vehicle will be launched in the US this week and the company first introduced the all new S-Class in Europe and China, the biggest markets for the Mercedes’ flagship product. The new S-Class is in its sixth generation and incorporates the highest levels of comfort with the latest technologies. The sleek exterior design and the ultra luxurious, high quality interiors are the major USP’s of this automobile.

The 2014 Mercedes S-Class is powered by three engine options which are mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The diesel variant is powered by a 2987cc engine which gives a maximum power of 235 BHP at 4000 RPM. Two petrol engine options are available – a 3498cc engine which gives a maximum power of 272 BHP at 6300 RPM and a 5461cc engine which gives a maximum power of 368 BHP at 6300 RPM. The S-Class is the most luxurious car in the company’s portfolio and has taken an important role at the top of the Mercedes range, since the Daimler Group recently dropped the Maybach ultra luxury brand due to poor sales.
