MotoGP May Not Host BharatGP In 2026, Missing From The Provisional Calendar

MotoGP has released the provisional calendar for 2026 and didn’t include the BharatGP. The BharatGP was hosted at the Buddh International Circuit in 2023, and fans have been eagerly waiting for a return. The race was scheduled to happen in 2024 and 2025, but then was postponed to 2026.

The BharatGP was part of the 2024 calendar but was postponed to March 2025 due to weather concerns. However, the race was postponed again due to operational circumstances. For 2026, the operational circumstances are still an issue, and organisers are having a difficult time resolving it.

Dorna have confirmed that operational circumstances pushed the Grand Prix’s initial slot of March 2025 to the next year. The race couldn’t get a slot for later in the year, so it was pushed to 2026. However, Dorna has confirmed that MotoGP and InvestUP are working to bring the race back.

The chances of the BharatGP returning on the 2026 calendar remain slim. However, the calendar is provisional, and there are various mechanisms which can help bring MotoGP to India. It remains to be seen how long India should wait until global motorsport disciplines realise the potential of the market.
