Priced at Rs. 15.59 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune), the MV Agusta Brutale 800 does come at a premium of almost Rs. 5-6 lakhs over its competition. Bookings were open over a week back and now the booking amount is as much as 20 percent of the ex-showroom price of the motorcycle, says MV Agusta.

While MV Agusta has been selling the bigger cousin, the Brutale 1090 here in India, the previous Brutale 800 never went on sale in India. However, the new Brutale 800 has now made it here with some design changes and updated looks. The updated Brutale 800 looks sharper and aggressive.

Starting with the headlamp, it now features a round LED DRL setup. There is also a new instrument cluster. The aluminum sub-frame is new and the fuel tank has been given a slight tweak in terms of design. MV Agusta has retained the signature slashed 3-pipe exhaust on the Brutale 800. The motorcycle sits on a revised chassis that has an elongated wheelbase and tips the scale at 175 kgs (dry).

Powering the MV Agusta Brutale 800 is a 796cc in-line 3-cylinder 12-valve motor that produces 109 HP and 83 Nm of torque. This engine comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox with MV EAS 2.0 (Electronically Assisted Shift). The Brutale 800 comes tech-loaded. There is MVICS electronics suite which includes slipper clutch, ride-by-wire, 8-level traction control and 3-level ABS.

The suspension is 43 mm upside-down fully adjustable Marzocchi forks up front while the rear is a fully adjustable Sachs unit. Twin 320 mm semi-floating discs with Brembo calipers up front and a single 220 mm disc at the rear take care of braking duties. The motorcycle runs on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 120 section tyre up front and a 180 section tyre at the rear.

MV Agusta claims a top speed of 237 km/hr and a fuel-efficiency figure of 17.85 km/l.
