Nissan is planning to come up with an MPV which will stand against the Toyota Innova.

2014 Nissan Evalia Special Variant
Evalia has been discontinued from the Nissan Lineup

Ever since Toyota launched Qualis, the company is ruling the MPV segment. Toyota then launched the Innova in 2005 and has updated it over the years. Toyota is now selling the Innova Crysta which is one of the best MPVs you can buy in India right now. Now the Japanese carmaker, Nissan is looking at a larger MPV model to rival the Toyota Innova Crysta.

Nissan is already selling some MPVs in the international market. While in India, they already discontinued the Evalia MPV which didn’t sell much. The company is saying that this new model will be a bigger MPV than the Evalia and it will take some time to launch, as the study is still in the process.

Nissan might take some of the technology from Renault and Mitsubishi to develop this MPV. A large MPV is what everyone is looking for, especially in India, Indonesia and the Philippines. To take on the likes of Innova, this MPV has to be good in every aspect.

In India, MPV is largely preferred by family and commercial sector as it can carry at least six passengers. Nissan has never been a benchmark for any segment in India. While this MPV will get launched, Indian automobiles will get BS-VI norms compliant. Nissan will also have to take care of the emissions norms before launching it in India.
