Hero MotoCorp and Honda continue to dominate the two-wheeler industry in India.

The Honda Activa continues to stay at the top of the list

In India, it is two-wheelers that help the country function on a daily basis. Middle-class Indian citizens use these two-wheelers for their regular office commute and for daily travel essentials. There are no changes in the top three positions from last month’s list. The Honda Activa stays at the top in the August sales table. Despite suffering a decrease of six percent in sales, the Hero Splendor retains the second position. At third position, it is the other motorcycle from Hero, the HF Deluxe.

Sales of the Honda CB Shine increased by a massive 20 percent and took fourth position. The fifth place is taken by the Hero Passion whose sales decreased by 7 percent. The cheapest bike available in the market, the Bajaj CT takes the sixth spot. The seventh and ninth place is taken by the TVS Jupiter and TVS XL Super respectively. The Hero Glamour is sandwiched by both the TVS bikes on eighth place. The Bajaj Pulsar series takes the tenth position with an increase of 10 percent in its figures.

The eleventh place on the list is taken by the Access 125 and this is the only Suzuki in the complete list. The Bajaj Platina is on 12th place. The 13th place is taken by the thumper, the Royal Enfield Classic 350. The 14th, 15th and 16th place are taken by the Honda Dio, TVS Apache and Honda Dream series respectively. At the 17th spot, the Hero Maestro saw the highest jump (28 percent) in its sales. The Honda CB Unicorn is sandwiched on 18th place by both the scooters from Hero MotoCorp. The Duet is the other scooter along with the Maestro.

The 20th place is taken by the Yamaha Fascino. The next three positions are occupied by the TVS Sport, Yamaha FZ and Honda Livo. However, in the penultimate position, it is the newly launched TVS NTorq. This scooter sees a marginal dip in sales numbers. The last position on the list is taken by the Hero Pleasure. The Street 750, CBR650F and Ninja ZX-10RR are the best-selling bikes of their respective makers in the performance segment.
