Nissan had announced that it will be launching its global sedan based on the ‘V’ platform by the end of this year and it was spied testing in Chennai. Known as the Sunny in China, this global sedan will be the second offering based on the ‘V’ platform after the Micra in India.

Looks are suggestive that the Sunny will not be resembling the Micra too much and will be first launched in China followed by 170 countries worldwide. Nissan may not name it the Sunny in India as Bajaj has the trademark registered for that name. It will be powered by a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder petrol motor which will punch out 100 bhp and a 1.5 litre dCi diesel engine, the same one powering the diesel Micra. Nissan is expected to price is competitively and the pricing should be in a range of 4.75 to 6.25 lakhs.
