RE is upgrading the rear suspension with rubber buffer built-in on the 650 Twins free of cost.

As of yet, there has been no official recall as to RE upgrading 650 Twins’ rear suspension with built-in rubber buffers. Owners of the first batch of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 have been complaining about the rear suspension have received new shocks. The owners of the first batch did not get these rubber buffers fitted on their bike’s rear suspension, but they can be upgraded now at authorised dealerships free of cost.

Royal Enfield has seen a good amount of sales in the first four months of this year with the 650 Twins. The company has managed to sell upwards of 5000 units of these bikes and Interceptor 650 being the one selling in higher numbers. The Interceptor 650 starts at Rs. 2.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).

The 650 Twins are both underpinned by a double cradle steel tubular chassis developed by UK-based Harris Performance. Both the bikes have a 648cc, air and oil cooled, parallel twin engine that churns out 47 BHP at 7250 RPM and 52 Nm of torque at 5250 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-assist clutch as standard.
