A new INT 650 name for the Interceptor 650 and a few subtle changes to the bike have been made in the US.

The launch of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 have been well received among domestic as well as international markets. However, the RE Interceptor 650 is updated for the US market with a new INT 650 name as Honda owns the Interceptor trademark in the US.

The Interceptor 650 went on sale in the United States ahead of India late last year. The Interceptor 650 is the preferred one among the 650 Twins and Royal Enfield has consistently recorded sales over 1000 units in recent months. The combined sales of the 650 Twins have been more than 5000 units in just five months. In the US market, apart from the change in the name of the bike, it also gets a few cosmetic tweaks. Round lens treatment of the headlamp and the round turn indicators are the minute cosmetic changes done to the bike.

The bike still gets the same 648cc, parallel twin-cylinder, oil-cooled, fuel-injected, SOHC motor that produces 47 BHP at 7250 RPM and 52 Nm of peak torque at 5250 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission with a slip-assist clutch as standard. The bike comes with disc brakes on both ends and a dual-channel ABS unit.
