Renault India has announced the ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure for the upcoming Duster Turbo TCe 100, with the SUV recording a mileage of 19.41 km/l during official testing. The certification comes ahead of the model’s expected launch in the Indian market.
The new-generation Duster is based on Renault’s RGMP platform, which underpins the company’s latest vehicle architecture. The SUV will be powered by a turbocharged petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. In its current state of tune, the engine produces 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque.
According to Renault, the certified fuel economy is the result of engineering efforts focused on powertrain efficiency and platform optimisation. The company says the engine has been specifically developed and calibrated to suit the requirements of the new architecture while addressing the demands of Indian driving conditions.
Fuel efficiency remains an important consideration for buyers in the mid-size SUV segment, where manufacturers continue to balance performance, drivability and running costs. The ARAI-certified figure provides a benchmark under standardised testing conditions, although real-world mileage may vary depending on factors such as traffic, driving style and vehicle load.
The upcoming Duster is expected to play a key role in Renault’s product strategy for India as the manufacturer looks to strengthen its presence in one of the country’s most competitive passenger vehicle segments.
