Royal Enfield has given the Classic 350 and 500 a rear disc brake and new colours.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 and 500 have been launched in India with a rear disc brake and new colours. The Classic 350 gets a new Gunmetal Grey paint scheme and the Classic 500 gets a Stealth Black paint scheme. The Classic 350 Gunmetal Grey is priced at Rs. 1,59,677/- while the Classic 500 Stealth Black is priced at Rs. 2,05,213/- (both prices on-road, Chennai).

Apart from the colours, both the Classic 350 and 500 get the much-needed rear disc brake. This is the same unit from the Thunderbird (240 mm rear disc). Accommodating the rear disc is a swingarm that is again borrowed from the Thunderbird.

No mechanical changes have been done to the engines. The Classic 350 is powered by a 346cc single-pot, air-cooled motor that produces 19.8 HP of power and 28 Nm of torque. The Classic 500 is powered by a 499cc single-cylinder, air-cooled powertrain with fuel-injection. This 499cc mill produces 27.2 HP of power and 41.3 Nm of torque. Both these motorcycles come matched to a 5-speed gearbox.

The Classic 350 and 500 come suspended via telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Both the bikes also get a similar fuel tank capacity of 13.5-litres.
