Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus limited edition launched in India, priced at Rs. 2.49 lakhs.
The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus limited edition was recently launched in the UK at a price of GBP 4999 (approximately Rs. 4.5 lakhs) and days later, the company has launched the limited edition motorcycle in India too. The Classic 500 Pegasus has been priced at Rs. 2.49 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai) and only 250 units (out of 1000 units) have been earmarked for the Indian market. The motorcycle can be booked online only and for those of you interested, the sale commences on 10th July. However, the online registration for interested customers starts today itself on the official website.
Globally, the Classic 500 Pegasus limited edition is available in two colours inspired by the original palettes of the Flying Flea – Service Brown and Olive Drab Green. Since the Olive colour is exclusive to the Army in India, our market gets only the Service Brown colour. Each of the 250 units will be available with a bespoke set of canvas panniers, one helmet and a T-shirt from the Pegasus collection. The bike is inspired by the World War II model used by British paratroopers known as the Flying Flea which was manufactured at Royal Enfield’s underground facility in Westwood, UK at that time. The Classic 500 Pegasus limited edition bike will carry a unique serial number stenciled on the fuel tank which is reminiscent of the 250 Airborne Light Company that served during the World War II.
The Classic 500 Pegasus draws power from a 499cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 27.2 BHP of power and 41.3 Nm of torque. All the underpinnings of the Pegasus limited edition model remain identical to the regular Classic 500 model. The motorcycle gets brown handlebar grips, leather strap with brass buckles across the air filter as well as blacked out exhaust, rims, kick start lever, pedals and headlight bezels. The Eicher-owned company is also offering an array of gear and genuine motorcycle accessories that are compatible with the Classic 500 Pegasus.
