Skoda is focusing on a wide range of SUV lineup. Their flagship Kodiaq was launched in 2017. Now they are introducing the Karoq, priced at Rs. 24.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will be positioned under the Kodiaq.

The Karoq is essentially a Yeti replacement that discontinued in India a few years back. Skoda has given a Kodiaq inspired design language to the Karoq, making it look quite similar.

The interior comes with a dual tone black and beige treatment. Gets a 3-spoke steering wheel, all-digital Virtual Cockpit and 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Some more features include dual zone climate control, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, SmartLink connectivity, ParkTronic system, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), etc.

Some of the safety features include 9-airbags, ABS, EBD and electronic stability control (ESC).

Powering the Skoda Karoq is a single petrol engine option. It is a 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engine producing 150 PS at 5000-6000 RPM and 250 Nm of torque at 1500-3500 RPM, mated to a 7-speed DSG auto gearbox.

It has a top speed of 202 km/hr. Does 0-100 km/hr in 9 seconds flat. Skoda Karoq fuel efficiency is rated at 14.49 km/l.

The car is available in 6 colour options – white, brown, blue, black, silver and grey.

Skoda showcased the car at the Auto Expo 2020. It was scheduled to launch in April but due to the nationwide lockdown, the launch got delayed.

The Skoda Karoq competes with Volkswagen T-Roc, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and the likes.
