Skoda Rapid Prestige

After the launch of Volkswagen Vento Style limited edition model, it’s time for the Skoda sibling, Rapid to get special edition treatment. Skoda has launched the Rapid Prestige limited edition model which includes additional features such as navigation system, parking sensors, wind visors and textile floor mats. To make people aware of the special edition model, Skoda has engraved Rapid badging on the sides of the car. Like most of the manufacturers, Skoda is also hoping for better stock clearance with the Rapid Prestige special edition model amidst the current slow selling scenario in the Indian car market.

Unlike the Volkswagen Vento Style, which comes in both petrol and diesel variants, the Skoda Rapid Prestige is offered only with a diesel engine. The Rapid features a 4-cylinder 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine that produces a maximum power output of 105 BHP at 4400 RPM and a peak torque of 250 Nm at 1500 RPM, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Reminding you about the petrol motor’s specifications of the Rapid, it is a 1.6-litre mill producing a maximum power of 105 BHP at 5250 RPM and a peak torque of 153 Nm at 3800 RPM, coupled with an option of a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Skoda Rapid is well known for its driving dynamics and strong performance. The Rapid competes in the Indian market with the likes of Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Nissan Sunny and the Renault Scala. Skoda has been offering various financial schemes with the Rapid to boost sales including 100 percent finance on the car and an EMI holiday offer which says buy a Rapid today and start paying the EMI after 12 months. Skoda is now trying its luck with the special edition Rapid Prestige that comes with a price tag of Rs. 9 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
