Suzuki Motorcycles India launches a new variant of the Gixxer and Gixxer SF with a rear disc brake at an attractive price of Rs. 79,726/- and Rs. 87,343/- respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Both motorcycles now get equipped with a 240 mm rear disc brake with a floating single piston caliper. Suzuki Motorcycles continues to sell the rear drum brake variant as well.

The Suzuki Gixxer street-fighter gets new green-black and red-black dual tone paint scheme whereas the SF variant gets a black-red dual tone option. Moreover, Suzuki Motorcycles also offers a special edition blue-white racing colour other than the standard variants. The older monotone colours continue to sell at Suzuki Motorcycle dealerships as well.

The engine on the Suzuki Gixxer remains unchanged. Powering the Gixxer is a 154.9cc, single cylinder, air cooled engine that churns out 14.8 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 14 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM. Paired to a 5-speed gearbox, the Gixxer impresses in the power department and Suzuki made sure that the feel good factor remains unchanged.

Suzuki Motorcycles have stepped up and made sure they remained in the competition, provided the fact that all the upcoming motorcycles now have a disc brake at the rear for that extra stopping power like the recently launched Honda CB Hornet 160R.
