The German automaker has just revealed the facelift of its entry level compact sedan, the A3. The new 2017 Audi A3 facelift gets some significant feature updates with more power and technology.
Audi has never compromised with the styling and performance of its four-wheelers. The first look on the car clearly reveals that Audi has worked upon its exteriors. Audi’s exclusive Matrix LED headlamps are absolutely new and refreshing for the A3 facelift. The Xenon headlamps are still standard but for the high-end variants, the LED lights are optional. The front grille has been updated and lifted with larger air intakes. At the rear side, the new LED tail lamps and the diffuser add more to the package.
The ultra modern technology loaded in this new version of the Audi A3 definitely speaks for its performance, safety and comfort. Audi went a step further by introducing its modernistic Virtual Cockpit to the A3 facelift. The interiors are refreshing with a 12.3-inch screen replacing the conventional dials. A high-resolution, 7-inch TFT screen unit for the MMI interface is an addition to the dashboard. The instrument console is sharp and impressive which seems to have been adapted from the TT, A4 or the Q7.
For the power, the new Audi A3 facelift houses a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder motor with 115 BHP for the lower variant and a four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 190 BHP for the top variant. For the economic diesel option, the A3 facelift may have a new 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel motor with 110 BHP. The top end variants like the A3 e-tron and the S3 will have motors producing 204 BHP and 310 BHP respectively for high performance options.
The Audi A3 facelift has modern Adaptive Cruise Control with traffic jam assist. The new features like Active Lane assist and emergency braking with pedestrian detection are adapted from the updated A4 and Q7 .These new features certainly make the car more safer to drive. According to sources, the car will be arriving in certain markets in May this year but is likely to be launched only early next year in India.
