Tata Motors has begun testing the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol variant of its recently launched premium hatchback, the Altroz. The new trim will be offered with a 5-speed gearbox as well as a DCT unit. The heavily camouflaged test mule shows no drastic changes made to the design.

A sticker on the front windshield of the vehicle reveals the details of the test-mule, including the X451 model codename and engine specifications, given as 1.2 VGTC BS6.

Tata is yet to give an official statement regarding the engine specifications of the Tata Altroz 1.2-litre turbo-petrol variant. However, the company did showcase a model at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show that churned 100 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque. The new variant of the Altroz is expected to be launched in India somewhere around the festive period.
