The Altroz will finally get an automatic option!

The bookings of the Tata Altroz iTurbo DCT have begun a day after the model was teased

Dealers of Tata Motors have unofficially begun accepting bookings for the Altroz iTurbo DCT which is set to be launched soon in the market.

Only teased by the Indian carmaker yesterday, the very first automatic variant of the Altroz will be offered in iTurbo form. The auto’box will be a 7-speed DCT.

Tata is not expected to tune the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine to produce more power when it is teamed to the DCT. Thus, the mill should deliver the same 110 PS and 140 Nm of torque.

The turbo-petrol and DCT combination should make for some good fun

The automatic model of the Altroz iTurbo is expected to be about 22 kg heavier than the equivalent manual version, but performance should be brisk to say the least.

Since the Altroz iTurbo DCT’s bookings have commenced unofficially, the token amount will vary for each city. But, what can be said for certain is that the auto iTurbo variants will command a sizeable premium over their manual counterparts.

Expect an official announcement regarding the commencement of Altroz iTurbo bookings to arrive sooner rather than later and the market launch of model should also be pretty near.
