Tata Motors is gearing up to showcase 4 new products at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The 4 products are the Altroz, Altroz EV, Hornbill small SUV and H7X production version. The Tata Altroz is the first vehicle to come with the ALFA platform and the automaker has now released more details about this platform.

ALFA stands for Agile, Light, Flexible and Advanced. The company has stated that this is a scalable platform meaning it can be tweaked to accommodate a variety of body styles like small hatchback, premium hatchback, sedan, MPV and SUV. The video even states that this architecture can accommodate hybrid and full-electric powertrains.

The video shows that the platform offers a flat floor which eventually results in more space in the cabin. It is even claimed that the Altroz will boast of best-in-segment cabin space. Just like the Harrier, the Altroz is based on the Impact 2.0 design philosophy and the production version is expected to carry bold styling along with well-packaged interiors.

The Tata Altroz will be launched in August 2019 and it will be offered with a petrol engine while an EV version will also be launched. If the company offers a BS6 diesel engine, costs might go up. The Altroz will rival the Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Maruti Baleno.
