Tata Altroz Spied Again
The alloy wheel design seems to be simpler than the concept

The Tata Altroz has been spied again, now in its final stages of testing after previewing a close-to-production version at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Tata unveiled the Altroz as the 45X concept at the 2018 Auto Expo and has been rescheduling the introduction of the vehicle for a while now. The car is now scheduled for a reveal in December while the price will be announced in early 2020.

The new set of images confirm that the Tata Altroz utilises the carmaker’s latest ‘Impact Design 2.0’ theme and sports an edgy styling. The company’s trademark ‘humanity line’, sweptback headlamps and a sleek grille will make the front facade. The side profile includes a rising window line with sharp kinks at both the front and rear. The tailgate will get a blacked-out section with neat-looking tail-lamps. The alloy wheel design will be simpler when compared to what has been shown before. The Tata Altroz measures 3988 mm in length, 1754 mm in width and 1505 mm in height and a 2501 mm long wheelbase.

The interior spied a while before, looks supple and plush, which is further accentuated with its dual-tone setup. It gets a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with chrome inserts. The multi-function steering wheel gets cruise control and a voice assist feature. Adding on, the instrument cluster bears resemblance with the Harrier and sports a digital MID and an analogue speedometer.

We expect the Altroz to be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine as well as a 1.5-litre diesel powertrain. Both manual and automatic transmissions might be on offer as well. The Tata Altroz is going to come with a lot of features. For instance, the doors will open at an angle up to 90-degrees which will enhance cabin convenience. Other features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, etc. will be a part of the package.

Tata is expected to price the Altroz in the Rs. 5-8 lakhs (ex-showroom) bracket. Once introduced in India, it will rival the likes of the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Ford Figo and the Honda Jazz.
