Maruti Suzuki’s S-Presso did not fare well in the recent round of Global NCAP crash tests, scoring zero stars and Tata Motors has taken the opportunity to take a dig at its rival.

On its social media handles (Facebook and Twitter), the carmaker shared a post which stated that Tiago is much safer.

The tweet by Tata read – Driving is #SeriouslyFun only when you live it up with safety.

Attached to the tweet was a picture of a broken coffee mug (get it?) with beans spilled out and the words “We don’t break that easy”. At the bottom right corner, Tata also added Tiago’s Global NCAP 4-star safety rating.

Tiago is Tata’s small hatchback that scored four stars in the Global NCAP crash tests earlier this year. It’s compact sedan sibling, the Tigor, also shares its safety rating.

Maruti S-Presso safety rating was recently provided by Global NCAP after it crash tested the car recently along with the Grand i10 NIOS from Hyundai and the Kia Seltos.

While the latter two fared better, the Maruti car, which is quite popular, having sold 10,612 units in October alone, did not do well. A full report about the crash test can be read here.
