Tata Nexon Long Term Review
The Tata Nexon receives a 7.0-inch touchscreen display for the XZ, XZ+ and the XZA+ variants

Tata Motors has launched a new Nexon XT+ variant to replace the XT model. The new XT+ packs in comparatively more features and simultaneously asks more price for it. The cost has gone up by Rs. 7000/- for the Nexon XT+ and in the newest avatar there are 2 variants available. One is the petrol Nexon XT+ that costs Rs. 8.02 lakhs and second is a diesel variant Nexon XT+ that costs Rs. 8.87 lakhs. (all prices, ex-showroom).

Tata Motors has upgraded the infotainment system in its Nexon compact SUV with a 7.0-inch touchscreen system and has eliminated the 6.5-inch version. The said upgrade can be seen on the Nexon XZ, XZ+, and the XZA+ models.

Quite a few add-ons have been made to the Tata Nexon XT+. The list includes projector headlamps, daytime running lights, 8-speaker sound system, a height-adjustable seat for the driver, rear AC vents and fog lamps. The antenna has been updated as well. However, the Nexon XT+ misses out on the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment by Harman-Kardon to keep the price hike sustainable. The air conditioning on the XT+ stays manual as well.

The Tata Nexon carries a 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor and a 1.5-litre diesel mill as the engine options. Both the powertrains are mated to a 6-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. The petrol engine churns out 110 PS of power and 170 Nm of maximum torque whereas the diesel mill pumps out 110 PS of power and a good 260 Nm of maximum torque. The Nexon did receive a mild cosmetic upgrade a couple of months ago.

A major upgrade to the complete line-up can be expected by 2020 as the BS6-compliance deadline has been set for 1st April 2020. That might bring changes to the list of features if the sticker price stays up its alley. Tata Motors is also prepping to introduce an all-electric Nexon in the near future as well.
