Sales continued to fall in November while Hero Splendor and Honda Activa retained their top positions.

The overall sentiment of the market was not great during the festive season and it reflected in the month-on-month sales of 2-wheelers. November 2018 saw a massive decline in sales of almost all the top-selling 2-wheelers. The Yamaha FZ, Bajaj CT and TVS Jupiter saw the biggest slump with sales down by 42 percent, 39 percent and 32 percent respectively over their October figures.

The top three positions were still maintained by the Hero Splendor, Honda Activa and Hero HF Deluxe. All the three 2-wheelers saw a slump in sales. The Hero Splendor sold 2,25,536 units while the Honda Activa and Hero HF Deluxe sold 2,18,212 units and 1,68,839 units respectively.

The TVS Jupiter went down from 4th position to 8th as it managed to sell 69,391 units in November. A decline of 32 percent from October sales of 1,02,132 units. The Honda CB Shine maintained its 6th position although sales were down by 22 percent. The Bajaj CT, however, fell from 5th position to 11th position.

The TVS XL Super and the Hero Passion saw a decline of 9 percent and 12 percent respectively. Interestingly, the TVS XL Super jumped from 9th position to 4th and the Hero Passion jumped from 8th position to 5th. Similarly, the Suzuki Access, Honda CB Unicorn and Hero Pleasure, all saw a decline in sales but went ahead in their ranks. The Suzuki Access sold 42,334 units, the Honda CB Unicorn 23,402 units and the Hero Pleasure sold 13,388 units.

The Hero Destini 125 was the only 2-wheeler in the top-25 that showed positive growth. The Hero Destini sold 16,047 units in November as opposed to 5556 units in October. The recently launched Royal Enfield 650 Twins sold 325 units. The Hero Duet which sold 20,040 units in October sold only 12,137 units in November, giving the top-25 list a miss.

In the performance bike segment, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 sold 118 units while the Harley-Davidson Street 750 and Suzuki Hayabusa sold 154 units and 23 units respectively. The iconic Jawa brand which saw a comeback earlier in November saw sales of 8 units.
