Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Compact SUV Codenamed Y17 Will Be Positioned Above The Brezza But Below The Grand Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch its upcoming compact SUV, codenamed Y17, positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. It will cater to buyers seeking a premium and accessible option in the midsize SUV space. The company will sell the model through its Arena dealership network.
Engine Options
The Y17 will share its powertrain options with the Grand Vitara, offering petrol, CNG and strong-hybrid configurations. A 1.5-litre petrol, an Atkinson-cycle hybrid and an efficient CNG variant are expected. Select trims might also include an all-wheel-drive system.
Expected Features
Feature highlights include Level-2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, twin digital displays and ventilated front seats. Additional comforts may feature a powered tailgate and a premium sound system.
Market Competition
The Y17 will compete against established midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate and MG Astor. Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq are also strong contenders in the segment. We expect prices to range between Rs. 9 Lakh and Rs. 16 Lakh (ex-showroom).
