Maruti Wagon R EV Dashboard
Toyota was not expected to change much of the car’s interior anyway

Mere days after the Toyota Hyryder was first spied undisguised, its interior has been captured as well.

Based on the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, or should we say the Wagon R EV, this electric city runabout has been given different styling at the front and rear, while the core body style stays as is.

As suspected earlier, the interior of the Toyota Hyryder adopts the same cabin design of the Wagon R. The steering wheel and the layout of the dashboard are identical, but there are slight differences.

As the image of the spied Toyota Hyryder interior shows, the EV will come with an updated instrument cluster (which looks dated), while the climate control panel has been changed for a more modern unit.

For some reason, Toyota has retained Maruti’s AGS gear lever, which looks rather odd in an EV, especially when the firm could have eliminated it and opted for a small toggle situated near the steering column, which seems to be the way some carmakers are going about.

Although this particular example does not have a touchscreen, the EV will come with one when it goes on sale and further, expect latest connectivity options and model-specific gadgets to be offered with it as well.

The exact size of the battery pack and the output of the electric motor of the Hyryder is unknown, but, its real world range on a single charge could be around 180-200 km, which, when driven in the city alone, seems probable.

Expected to be put on sale later this year or by early 2022, the Toyota Hyryder could cost less than Rs. 10 lakhs (ex-showroom).
